Shaman

An ability specific to the Caladrius species.

Caladrius naturally recover from debuffs and have the ability to cure others of their ailments.

BONUS - SELF-HEALING

A character will naturally recover from debuffs in 3 turns.

BONUS- SALVE

A caladrius can attempt to heal an ally of their debuff using their turn. To determine success, a coin will be flipped.

Fire Breathing

An ability specific to dragons.

Wielders of scorching breaths of flame, dragons have the ability to use their natural ability of fire breath for various practicalities. Characters with this immunity are also immune to BURNS.

BONUS - SINGE

Within a fight, any attacks that utilize fire breathing have a chance to inflict the enemy with the BURN debuff. To determine whether the opponent is burned, a coin will be flipped.

BONUS - THERMAL ENERGY

Dragons have increased body heat thanks to their natural potential for fire breathing. They may withstand colder temperatures for longer durations of time.

Blacksmithing

An ability specific to dragons.

Perhaps the most technologically advanced species, dragons have a natural affinity for crafting, granting them excellent skill in blacksmithing.

BONUS -  MUSCLE

The character has a natural strength in the STRONG stat.

BONUS - CRAFTER

Grants the owner of the character with this ability access to more crafting recipes at the character's introduction. While all users will have access to these recipes ultimately, these users will bypass having to unlock them.

Shapeshifting

An ability specific to Kitsunes.

Masters of illusory techniques, kitsunes have the ability to change their form at will.

BONUS - SNEAKY

Natural strength in the SLY stat.

BONUS - FORM SHIFT

Allows the character to alter their physical form to mimic other characters/entities/NPCs. Traits such as voice will also be mimicked. Abilities of allies may be mimicked in combat, but abilities of enemies/NPCs may not. To form shift into any other entity, a character must first have seen said entity, whether in person or through depictions, such as statues or historical images. The accuracy of the illusion will depend on how familiar the character is with the chosen entity’s physical traits. The larger the size of an illusion than the natural size of the user, the more difficult it is to hold the form.

FORM SHIFT IS A FIELD ABILITY, meaning it can only be used a specified number of times on a certain quest/challenge. This number is unique to each quest and will be displayed clearly in the quest's introductory information.

Note: Alongside the listed weaknesses of shapeshifting, while using FORM SHIFT, Kitsunes will naturally adopt the weaknesses of any ally entities they shapeshift into.

Hypnotist

An ability specific to Kitsunes.

Kitsunes are known to be able to cast their victims, or allies, to sleep. They can manipulate the dreams of others, keeping them peaceful or even turning them into horrendous nightmares.

BONUS  - DREAMING

Allows a kitsune to cast the SLEEP debuff on an ally through a coin flip. A successful coin flip will inflict the ally with pleasant and restful dreaming. While the ally will lose turns due to the debuff, their health will also be restored by 25 HP.

BONUS - ILLUSIONIST

Allows a kitsune to cast the SLEEP debuff on an enemy through a coin flip. A successful coin flip will inflict the enemy with unpleasant and tormented nightmares. The enemy will lose turns due to the debuff as well as take 3 HP of chip damage from their nightmares.

Booming

An ability specific to griffins.

Griffins are natural hosts of sound magic. They can raise their voice to extreme volumes and are capable of utilizing a form of echolocation. Characters with either of the bonuses under this ability are also resistant to sleep.

BONUS - ECHO

A character can utilize echolocation to get a general direction/location on a desired individual/NPC/item/location. The character is also immune to sleep.

ECHO IS A FIELD ABILITY, meaning it can only be used a specified number of times on a certain quest/challenge. This number is unique to each quest and will be displayed clearly in the quest's introductory information.

BONUS - STALL

A griffin can raise its voice to extremely loud volumes and may halt the attack of an opponent, but this comes at the cost of its own turn. To determine success, a coin will be flipped. The character is also immune to sleep.

Pride

An ability specific to Griffins.

Griffins are known for their pride, which helps them power through tough challenges such as battles.

BONUS - KNIGHTHOOD

Natural strength in the ENDURING stat.

BONUS - DIGNITY

 If afflicted with a debuff, Griffins’ attacks do +2 damage.

Plague

An ability specific to Tatzelwurms.

Tatzelwurms have the ability to inflict an opponent with an additional debuff on top of poison due to the unique properties of their toxicity.

BONUS - TOXIC

Within a fight, any direct attacks have a chance to inflict the enemy with the POISON debuff. To determine whether the opponent is poisoned, a coin will be flipped.

BONUS - BUBONIC

An attack has a chance to inflict an additional debuff on the opponent if they are already poisoned. To determine success, a coin will be flipped, and if successful the debuff will be selected randomly.

Reptilian

An ability specific to Tatzelwurms.

Tatzelwurms are known for their strong claws, which make them excellent climbers. They are also known for their unique scales, which are said to cause misfortune.

 BONUS - STRONG CLAWS

Able to utilize excellent claw strength, Tatzelwurms get a variety of bonuses when it comes to climbing. They are able to reach longer distances, climb for longer amounts than other species, as well as hold onto ledges for longer periods of time.

BONUS - VIRULENT SCALES

Twice per fight, Tatzelwurm have the ability to take a defensive stance and cast a random status effect at their attacker. To decide whether a status effect is inflicted or not, a coin will be flipped.

Spellcasting

An ability specific to Unicorns.

Unicorns have an affinity for magic that other species lack, giving them amplified magical abilities.

BONUS - REWIND

Unicorns have the option to roll twice on magic-related rolls such as Seeing. However, the second roll must be chosen no matter what even if it is worse than the first.

BONUS - POTENTIAL

Unicorns are known to naturally have the highest seeing potential of all species.

 

Beguiling

An ability specific to Unicorns.

Unicorns are often stereotyped as having aesthetically pleasing forms as well as charming personalities.

BONUS - DEFLECTION

A character may take control of a character’s incoming debuff and deflect it back at the user. However, if this fails, the debuff will do twice the damage or last an additional turn. To determine success, a coin will be flipped.

BONUS - SMOOTH

Natural strength in the CHARISMA stat.
